Home Sweet Home

Whew, what a whirlwind of activities this past week and half! We are finally HOME to our sweet home (for now :) after returning home from a week long family reunion up north. (The rest of the time was spent at my in-laws)
What a great way to stay close to extended family members, than to have a reunion and share games, food and fellowship.
We camp out at Mr. Pilot's grandparent's one bathroom home! Thankfully Grandpa has gotten a bippy set up for these occasions...a wonderful 'relief' for a pregnant mom, I assure you! ;)
Some of the younger cousins set up tents outside since the house is not set up to house all of these families that show up. If I counted right we had 22 people there this year. We were missing 8 people.
Each day we would share our meals together in Mr. Pilot's grandparent's 2 car garage, set up with screens to keep out those nasty 'skeeters.
Following the meal clean up, we would have game time...games galore: Scrabble, Blokus, Mexican Train, Scum Bucket, Mafia, Scrabble Slam, Ladder Golf etc. And for the guys, they had their daily Frisbee golf game. The most enjoyable part of games is the memory sharing and story telling that comes up. Flying Jae and Lil' Cowboy loved having their cousins (once removed?) keeping them entertained. Since Mr. Pilot's Grandparents live on a farm it was wonderful to be able to let the boys run free without having to worry too much about them.
What a fun filled week, it went by so fast and already we all wonder what next year's reunion will be like, with a newer addition (baby #3). But there are questions looming: Was this our last reunion at "The Farm?" Will there even be a farm to come back to next year? Grandpa and Grandma want to sell the farm and move to a larger town and live in an apartment or retirement home. Will Grandpa be able to handle it next year with his health declining? Only the Lord knows what the future holds.
But until then, we were blessed to have spent the time that we did last week with our family and we will have these sweet memories to share with each other hopefully during our next family gathering wherever and whenever that may be.
Now to get on to the after-reunion unpacking, piles of laundry and sleeping catching up-on.
Cherish the times you have with your family, you never know if you'll have another time with them!
